Talent

After a leader embarks on the path of knowing himself, the question arises of believing in his potential. Discovering the area where each leader has the most Talent is one of the first steps to start building trust. Dealing with limiting beliefs and releasing those that enhance growth and personal development is indispensable to unveil the Talent that each has within. However, Talent is not everything. But it is the corner stone that allows to erect more solid and elevated constructions.

Talent is the combination of the expression of emotional intelligence with the aptitude and ability to perform certain tasks and/or functions. For this reason, talent may have innate characteristics develops with practice. One of the first practices the Leader must apply to develop his Talent is to believe in himself. A Leader who believes in his ability to build his reality, opens space to the Virtues of faith that everything that is proposed is possible to achieve and the Hope that in the future everything will be as planned. The alliance of these Virtues allows the leader to reach increasing levels of high performance and results for the company and/or organization. 

When a Leader believes in what he is accomplishing, the confidence he acquires in the outcome of his action is incredible. On the other hand, by confidently believing in his mission, the Leader builds extraordinary power for himself, for the team he leads and for the company and/or organization. Whenever a Leader does not fully take advantage of his Talent, when he does not believe in himself and doubts his mission, when he does not act according to what he believes and does not try to achieve every possibility that opens, he loses the opportunity to achieve more and better results.      

What can take a Leader further than is normally expected? Have the Passion needed to strengthen his Talent and his abilities. The Passion creates the fire of enthusiasm that will serve as a permanent fuel for the realization of all the necessary actions to achieve the planned results. Existing Passion, it does not matter if the path is in a straight line or is more or less winding. It doesn’t matter if the path has multiple obstacles, challenges, and threats. Whenever the Leader is fed by the inner fire of the Passion, his Talent will always come out strengthened.

1. The power of Realization: when a Leader likes what he does, that energy is transmitted to his entire team, to his entire company and/or organization and transpires to all business partners. 

2. The power of the Will: when a Leader has a strong inner Will, there is no result or goal impossible to achieve. The Inner Will also reinforces self-confidence and self-determination.  

3. The power of Energy: when a Leader has passion and will for what he is doing, he becomes an energy carrier and transmitter. The energy that increases itself reinforces another important virtue – the Perseverance.  

4. The power of Excellence: when a Leader has passion, he seeks Excellence in all the tasks and objectives he intends to achieve. The combination of Mission and Passion allows you to give the energy so you can achieve excellence at all levels. 

5.The power of Influence: when a Leader develops his activities with Passion and Willpower, he reinforces his capacity for influence. This energy infects and inspires everyone else to follow you through Communication.  

6. The power of Success: when a Leader manages to gather the Passion and the willpower, when he sets in motion his energy, his ability to achieve and obtain excellence, he succeeds with his possibility of influence to achieve more success in all his projects.  

7. The power of Creativity: when a leader manages to gather all these powers to develop his Talent, it opens up a space of endless possibilities for creating new realities. This space is called Creativity.  

Taking the initiative at the right time is what distinguishes a Leader with Talent. The initiative must be taken, with confidence in the inner strength of the Will and in the intuition that the path must be started. Intuition precedes Reason. On a path full of challenges, obstacles and uncertainties but step by step, it will open up new possibilities and opportunities. Keep going, with the necessary flexibility and equipped with the Values that allow you to achieve the highest performances. When the capacity for initiative is permanent, there is no impossible place to get to. Talent + Initiative = Extra Talent.

To have Talent without Focus is to lose yourself without knowing where you are going. A Leader without Focus may be in permanent activity but is lost in following the right path to achieve results. When a Leader can unite Talent to Focus, he can aspire to go further. Focusing means identifying what is important at the expense of what is urgent. We only have 1440 minutes a day to plan, manage and perform all the tasks that are important to lead a company and/or organization. In an increasingly complex, disruptive and rapidly accelerating global economy, it is essential that the Leader knows how to have his moments of Focus: prioritize and forgo tasks, as well as pass the filter on problems and opportunities. In those moments, it is essential to ask the relevant questions: Does this activity bring me closer or away from my objectives? Do you contribute positively to fulfilling my mission? Is it consistent with my Values? Is it urgent and important? If it is urgent and not important, do we have the time to comply with it?

With the development of self-discipline, the Leader is able to deepen his practical capacities of self-control, personal organization and self-determination. The continued practice of self-discipline allows for consistent results, as if you were a marathon runner and not a sprinter. For this reason, it is necessary to develop with daily practice the following attitudes: not to let outstanding subjects accumulate; work with unfavorable hypotheses to minimize future risks; to cultivate pro-activity and reduce procrastination; to appreciate punctuality and compliance with agenda planning; comply with the word given and be consistent with yourself and others (led and partners). The conscious practice of a Mindful Leader constantly allows for your personal development and that of others.

Perseverance is a quality that is accompanied by others: persistence, firmness, consistency, tenacity, obstinacy and pertinatia. The more a Leader works on Perseverance, the more ability he has to be able to carry on all the tasks and activity that allow him to achieve his goals and results. Perseverance gives the Strength needed to finish the tasks that begin, fighting challenges, bypassing obstacles and always building new paths. Perseverance means determination and that the path is made by small stages, which are all important to reach the goal. A Leader with Talent who permanently cultivates Perseverance can see opportunities in adversity. By demanding more from himself, he manages to demand more from everyone else. 

Courage is regarded as an important Virtue that allows us to act in spite of fear, fear, and intimidation. Cultivating Courage means knowing even better the dimension of Talent. When a Leader has the Courage to act permanently, he is testing his Talent into developing all his innate and learned abilities. Courage is tested when change is needed, when our deep convictions are challenged, when learning and mistakes made show our weaknesses. A Leader also shows courage when he acts in the direction of what he considers right even if no one is evaluating him. Do what is right and not what may seem more comfortable or comfortable. The Courage of Talent is tested when the Leader can be the easy target, without it frightening him.  

A Leader should always bear in mind the motto of ‘learn, learn more, always learn’. The development of Talent can only be accomplished through constant lifelong learning. Being available to learn is always an attitude to cultivate. To stop learning is to stop leading. Leaders with the ability to learn always turn their Talent into a Super-Talent.
