TheconceptofSustainableConstructionisrelatedtotheneedtoputintopracticeanewparadigminthedesignofthearchitecturalproject,intheconstruction,maintenanceandafterthedemolition/dismantlingofthebuilding.Asacornerstoneofthisnewconcept,itisnecessarytotakeintoaccountthefollowingthreepoints:1.Thechoiceanduseofthe raw materialstobeusedandtheefficiencyoftheprocessesinvolved:thequestionofchoosingmaterialsthattakeintoaccounttheirecologicalfootprint,fromtheextractionphasetothedemolitionphase,withthenecessaryuseoftheRCD’s(ConstructionandDemolitionWaste)forsubsequentrecycling,shouldbeoneofthemandatoryfactorstobetakenintoaccount.Minimizingtheimpactsontheplacewheretheconstructionisinsertedandminimizingtheimpactsontheenvironment,resultingfromtheconstructionactivitywillbeoneofthemostimportantaspects.2.Theoptimisationoftheresourcesusedin the construction,takingintoaccountthelifecycleofthebuilding(maintenance):theconstructionactivityshallalwaystakeintoaccountnotonlytheconstructionphasebutthemaintenancephasethroughoutthelifecycleofthebuilding.Inthiscontext,itisessentialtobetonthequalityofsolutionsandbuildingmaterialsthatensureagreatercontinuityofthequalityoftheconstructionandminimizingthecostsandmaintenancework.3.Analysisofimpactsontheenvironment,thecommunityandtheworld:inthiscontextitisimportanttorespectthecharacteristicsoftheareasofimplantationofbuildings,withaspecialfocusonthequalityofthearchitecturalprojectthroughitscorrectinsertioninthenatureofthePlace.Constructionactivitymustmeettheenormousneedsthatexist,ensuringthatitsimpactissustainableforpresentgenerationsandfuturegenerations.
